The Button Sewing Foot is designed to securely attach buttons while slightly raising them off the fabric, creating a thread shank. This added space makes buttoning easier and prevents the button from being sewn on too tightly, ensuring durability and ease of use. Ideal for garments, accessories, and home décor projects, this foot helps achieve professional, evenly spaced button attachments with minimal effort.

How to Use:

1. Prepare the Machine Thread the machine with matching thread on top and in the bobbin. Snap on the Button Sewing Foot. If available, press the presser foot extra lift to make attaching the foot easier.
2. Adjust the Thread Shank Guide Slide the Retractable Thread Shank Guide to the desired position:
   All the way back for no thread shank.
   First position for a shorter shank (best for lightweight fabrics).
   Second position (all the way forward) for a longer shank (ideal for heavier fabrics).
3. Position Small Buttons For buttons smaller than 1/4” (6 mm), use the Button Placement Tool. Insert the tool into the buttonholes. Note: Avoid using buttons higher than 1/8” (3 mm).
4. Insert the Button into the Foot With the Button Placement Tool holding the button, insert it into the slot on the Button Sewing Foot. This will automatically position the button for sewing.
5. Remove the Placement Tool
   Once the button is correctly positioned, remove the Button Placement Tool before sewing.
6. Select the Button Sewing Stitch On machines with a SEWING ADVISOR™ feature, select “Button Sewing” mode. Adjust the stitch width if necessary to match the distance between the buttonholes.
7. Sew the Button in Place Follow the instructions in your User’s Guide to complete the stitching, ensuring the button is securely attached with the proper thread shank height.

This method ensures strong, durable button attachments while preventing the button from being sewn too tightly, making fastening easier and more comfortable.
